Use JPG for photos
JPG is widely compatible and works well for camera photos, product images, and large visual scenes. It is lossy, so lower quality settings can introduce artifacts.
Use PNG for crisp graphics
PNG is useful for screenshots, UI graphics, and transparent assets. It can be larger than JPG or WebP for photographic images.
Use WebP for web performance
WebP often creates smaller files while supporting transparency. It is a good default for modern websites when browser support is acceptable.
